Shop Washing Lines Online

Clothing lines or washing lines are an essential item for every South African home. Whether you live in a flat in Cape Town or a mansion in Sandton, a washing line is always a part of the outdoor landscape. Used to hang wet clothes on that have just been washed, washing lines are such a simple design for such an essential household function. At BUCO, we stock a range of washing line types from wall mounted lines to stand-alone ones. No matter how much space you have or what your budget is, you’ll be able to buy washing lines for sale at BUCO online or in-store today. We stock washing line poles for sale as well as entire washing line units from leading manufacturers in South Africa. We like to think that our prices are pretty competitive too.

Which washing lines are the best to buy?

When buying a washing line, make sure you know a few things first, before purchasing. Ask yourself these questions:

  1. How much space do I have for a wash line?
  2. Do I need a wall-mounted line or do I need a washing wrack that stands?
  3. Do I need my new washing line to be able to be put away?
  4. How much washing/clothes does the line need to hold at one time?
  5. What price am I willing to spend?

There is a variety of clothesline types, so it’s best to know how much space you have and how much washing you need it to carry each day in order to determine the type and size of the washing line you purchase.

The different wash line types include:

Wall Mounted Washing Lines

These are washing lines that can be secured to an external wall. When erected, they hinge out from the wall and you are then able to hang the clothes from the many lines they hold. When not in use you can hinge the contraption down and fold it away.

Free Standing Washing Lines

These kinds of washing lines were common in many homes many years ago. They stand as a central pole that was usually built into the ground. They have several other poles jutting out from the central pole (like spokes of a wheel) with the washing line gut moving through each pole like a spider web.

Washing Line Wracks

These units are standalone wracks that can be easily transported from inside to outside. They are collapsible, so can be put away when not in use. These washing line options are great for use in small flats or when renting a room.
