Which electrical wire is best?
Electrical wire is usually a cylindrical, flexible strand or rod of metal, which is used to carry electrical current or even telecommunications signals. For this reason, there are many electrical wire types found in various shapes and forms across a variety of industries. Most commonly, the wire comes in solid core, stranded, or braided forms.
Based on the electrical wire function that you have in mind, BUCO has a broad variety on offer on rolls that range from 10m to 100m in length, and across an option of thicknesses from 0.75mm through 2.5mm and even 10.00mm.
The most common electrical wire size options you'll find in residential work is between 1.5mm and 2mm. Larger appliances such as electric stoves, electric water heaters, electric dryers, and central air units will often use any range of thicknesses between 2.588mm and 4.115mm (6-gauge wire).
Remember: If you're adding an outlet, you need to match your new wire to the same thickness as the existing wiring.
