Multimeter Testers
Which multimeter testers are best to buy?
A multimeter tester is used to provide precise readings of resistance, AC and DC voltage, continuity, capacitance, frequency, and assessing everything from live wires and circuit breakers to electrical panels and power transformers.
While all professional electricians own one form of a capacitor tester or another, many people like to have one of these for their own use, so as to predetermine where faults or capacity problems may lie before consulting professionals for help. As a BUCO shopper, we’re here to help you with the electrical tester gadgets you need — whether in a professional capacity or for personal use.
The multimeter tester works by touching its tip to the conductor being tested; for example, it can be used on a wire in a switch or inserted into a hole of an electric socket.
Remember: Always take the necessary safety precautions when working with any electrical components.
BUCO stocks a wide range of industry-leading brands such as Toptronic, Fragram, and more. And for those of you who are looking to convert to using a prepaid meter, we have a single phase 80AMP prepaid meter which retails for under R500.
Your prepaid meter should be installed between the Council or Municipal meter and house distribution board. Isolator switches should be installed after the Council or Municipal meter; the prepaid meter is then installed between the relevant isolator switch and distribution board.
Remember: Installing your own prepaid meter doesn’t automatically mean you will be excluded from utility bills from the council or municipality. You should contact your local municipality or Eskom directly when seeking to make use of a prepaid meter option for your electricity billing and expenditure purposes.
